FINCA Impact Finance (FIF) is a global network of community-based banks and microfinance institutions that provides responsible and impactful financial services to customers who are left out of the formal financial system. FIF was established by FINCA International as part of its mission to create pathways out of poverty through sustainable, scalable solutions rooted in the needs of the people it serves. KfW holds a minority interest in FIF and, together with FINCA International, supports the network by bringing capital, financial leverage, and business acumen to FIF’s operations.
Established in 1948 as a public law institution, KfWBankengruppe is today owned 80% by the Federal Republic of Germany and 20% by the federal states (“Länder”). With a balance sheet total of more than EUR 440 billion, KfW is one of the world´s leading and most experienced promotional banks.
