Customer data is an essential element of our agile product development process. We design products and services based on customers’ stated needs, then test and refine based on their feedback.

FINCA International’s research and data science team drives evidence-based decision-making across our network, combining rigorous research, advanced analytics and innovative methodologies to generate actionable insights.

  • In the last year, the team conducted nearly 30,000 client interviews and commissioned more than 30 survey projects around the world.

  • In-depth customer surveys measure our progress in helping customers do the things that matter most to them. Each year, we ask about everything from savings habits and income generation to the ability to pay for health services and school fees.

  • Beyond surveys, we integrate unstructured qualitative feedback, transactional records, digital engagement data, and call center feedback to build a holistic picture of our customers’ financial lives.

  • Using AI ML predictive and multimodal analytic tools, we not only understand past outcomes but anticipate emerging customer needs, risks and impact pathways.

  • In collaboration with Amazon Web Services, the team is taking advantage of AI to gain deeper knowledge of customers’ needs and how our products and services help meet them. We harness AI for Good — leveraging technology to better understand and serve our customers, while upholding the highest standards of ethics and customer protection.
